Directoire Headboard 160cm in Solid Pine

A headboard is more than a frame—it acts as the architectural anchor for the bedroom, quietly defining the space where each evening's rest and every morning’s welcome begins. The Directoire 160 cm headboard structures your sleeping area with gentle but undeniable confidence, lending depth and classic proportion to the wall. Its wings and stepped cornice frame the bed, turning a simple mattress into a setpiece and providing a substantial vertical presence without imposing. This sculpted backboard creates both a comforting visual boundary and a sophisticated backdrop for quiet evenings or vibrant bedding, imbuing the room with equilibrium and historic charm.

The silhouette is marked by a rectilinear frame anchored by short, integrated legs and vertical posts at each side. The stepped cornice projects outward, extending the headboard’s line horizontally in an unmistakable nod to Directoire-era architecture. The main face is symmetrically divided—two large, sunken panels softened by moulded framework and framed by pilasters with delicate fluting and beaded motifs. Chamfered blocks punctuate the corners where crown meets pilaster, combining subtle ornamentation with crisp edges. A low clear gap under the central field adds airiness without detracting from the stature.

Designed to fit seamlessly behind a 160 cm-wide bed, this headboard brings order and visual solidity to the bedroom. The solid construction offers steadiness for leaning back with a book, while its shaped cornice can visually expand low or vignetted spaces. The broad recessed panels create a subtle play of shadow and light, highlighting bedding and pillows. Without added storage, the design remains focused and versatile, adaptable for both contemporary simplicity and layered, heirloom interiors.
