Impressive Directoire-style solid pine bookcase, two columns of open shelving, 4 lower doors, and an elegant access ladder.

This large bookcase brings character to any living space, offering spacious open shelving on two columns. The lower doors keep your belongings out of sight, while the ladder, both practical and decorative, encourages enjoyable exploration of the shelves.

The Directoire style is conveyed through beautiful mouldings, a substantial base, and a refined cornice that frames the piece. The two tall vertical units are divided by fluted pilasters, highlighted by the vertical groove panelled back. The resting ladder and the small corbels beneath the top shelf demonstrate meticulous attention to detail.

Its deep shelves showcase a large collection of books, items, or decorative mementoes. The shelves appear to be adjustable to suit all book heights. Upper-level access is made easier with a removable ladder set on a rail, perfect for large volumes or display pieces placed high up.
